Freedom of Creation Lamps Raise the Bar in Lighting Design

Freedom of Creation

Freedom of Creation is lighting design for the 21st century. Rising designer Janne Kyttänen is the founder of Freedom of Creation. What makes his lights so unique is the new technological process that goes into producing these elegant lamps.

Kyttänen utilizes Rapid Manufacturing technology, more specifically a process called Laser Sintering to create these truly unique lights. Laser Sintering inputs a CAD drawing and a laser begins to build the model layer by layer until a flawless 3-D object is created out of Polyamide material. It is quite a revolutionary process.

Freedom of Creation lamps are more than just accent lights, they are fine pieces of art and are unlike any lamp out on the market today. FinnishGifts carries the 610 Lamp, Standing Palm Lamp and Table Palm Lamp. These lights are an instant conversation starter and rest assured you will get many compliments about these unrivaled lamps!

The Reinvention of Finnish Design

Since the early days of Alvar Aalto and other notable designers, Finnish design has always focused on two basic concepts: simplicity and functionalism. Today’s youthful designers live in a much busier and hi-tech world and thus have been more focused on experimenting with new materials and processes to give Finnish design a more cosmopolitan look and feel.

Designers like Janne Kyttänen, Harri Koskinen and Ilkka Suppanen have all pushed the barrier into the new age of Finnish design. Janne Kyttänen utilizes the new ‘laser sintering’ process in Rapid Manufacturing to produce truly unique lighting and lamp shades for his Freedom of Creation company. Harri Koskinen continues to make simple things seem original as his one of a kind block lamps have done so for Design House Stockholm. Ilkka Suppanen has taken a simple candleholder and transformed it into an elegant fireplace for Iittala as part of their new ambient light collection.
