In 2007 iittala introduced a new generation of glass birds. Italian designer Giorgio Vigna’s birds are a sculptural, contemporary interpretation of the animal word. These birds are created by the master glass blowers at iittala’s renowned glass works in Nuutajärvi, Finland. Each bird is hand made through a very detailed process of forming, cooling, and polishing the birds – many stages are needed to create the final piece of art.
